Stone Creek Condos at Fernie Mountain Resort, British Columbia, Canada

Fernie in Winter

Fernie Alpine Resort is a world class ski destination nestled in the Canadian Rockies in South Eastern British Columbia, approximately three hours drive south west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Fernie is famous for powder skiing with an incredible amount of snowfall every winter.

Stone Creek is situated on the mountain within two blocks of the ski base, restaurants and bars, yet it is located in a quiet corner of the resort.

Skiing & Snowboarding

Fernie Alpine Resort is a world-class ski area renowned for its excellent natural snow conditions. The snow starts to fall at the end of November and stays well into April with an average annual snowfall of 875 cm (29+ feet)!

Fernie has 97 defined trails, five alpine bowls and loads of tree skiing to test your skills. Experts are never bored gliding through glades, dropping off ridges, checking out chutes or making first tracks in the powder.

Cedar and Lizard bowls offer some superb glade skiing for intermediates. The lower mountain is a beginner’s delight with wide open slopes and winding trails. Snowboarders can test the all-terrain park, attack the half-pipe and ride the many natural gullies.

Cat Skiing

For those who like to have untracked powder for every turn you have to go where the lifts don’t! The easiest way to access those powder stashes is to ride in a snow cat. Fernie Wilderness Adventures will take your group up into the remote mountain in a comfortable cat and the experienced guides will show you some of the best powder skiing/riding in the area. There are also wildlife viewing tours in the valley.

Cross-Country Skiing

For self-explorers, there are over 10km of groomed trails winding around the mountain. For those who like things a little less hilly, there are trails along the river in town and along the historic Coal Creek Trail (shared with snowmobilers).

There are also guided tours available, featuring the Silk Trail and others. Knowledgeable guides and local trivia add to the crisp mountain air and valley scenery to create a truly memorable experience! Available daily, flexible departure times, trip duration 3 hours. Tours include rental gear, guide and snacks. All ages welcome! Cost is $30/person, minimum 2 guests required.

Snow Mobiling
